Niall O’Connell Pain & Injury Clinic

Live better. Perform better. Regain trust in your body.

Focused, one-to-one assessment and treatment for pain, injury, stiffness and persistent muscular issues, delivered from a private appointment-only clinic in North Dublin.

Appointments are intentionally limited each week to ensure every client receives personalised care, clear advice and a treatment plan tailored to their needs.

Assessment first. Treatment tailored to you.

You do not need to know whether you need neuromuscular therapy, dry needling, cupping, sports massage techniques or mobility work before booking. The first step is understanding the problem, how it is affecting you and what is most likely to help.

Depending on your needs, your session may combine hands-on treatment, movement assessment, dry needling, cupping and practical rehabilitation advice. The aim is not only to ease symptoms, but to give you a clear way forward.

Experienced care. Personal attention.

Niall O’Connell is a Neuromuscular Therapist with experience supporting everyone from busy professionals and recreational athletes through to professional and Olympic-level athletes.

Every appointment is delivered directly by Niall, from the initial assessment through to any follow-up care.

Helping active people get back to what matters to them

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain

  • Hip and knee pain

  • Running-related injuries

  • Football and GAA injuries

  • Gym-related strains and overload

  • Persistent muscular tightness

  • Desk-related stiffness and discomfort

  • Movement restrictions and recurring niggles

  • Return-to-training and return-to-sport concerns

A clear plan, not unnecessary appointments

My approach is simple: listen carefully, assess the issue, treat what needs to be treated and give you practical guidance to help you move forward.

Follow-up appointments are recommended only when they are likely to add value. Some clients may need a short course of care; others may need one appointment and a clear self-management plan.

About Me

Hi, I’m Niall O’Connell, a Neuromuscular Therapist based in Drumcondra, North Dublin.

My interest in injury treatment and rehabilitation began through my own experience in sport. After competing at a high level in football, as well as participating in GAA and athletics from a young age, I experienced a significant muscular injury that repeatedly broke down whenever I tried to return to play.

For almost three years, I tried different treatments and opinions without finding a lasting solution. I was eventually introduced to Neuromuscular Therapy and, within weeks, I was back on the pitch and moving with confidence again.

That experience shaped the way I practise today.

I understand how frustrating it can be to feel limited by pain, injury or a body you no longer fully trust. My approach is built around listening carefully, assessing properly and using the combination of hands-on treatment, movement assessment and rehabilitation advice that best suits the individual in front of me.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of clients, from everyday active adults and busy professionals to Olympic-level and professional athletes. While elite sport has provided valuable experience, my focus is helping people at every level move better, recover well and return to the activities that matter to them.

Today, I operate an appointment-only clinic with limited availability each week. This allows me to provide a focused, personal service and maintain the quality of care I believe every client deserves.

My Treatment Philosophy

  • Understand the person and the problem, not only the painful area.

  • Use the most appropriate tools rather than applying the same treatment to everyone.

  • Explain findings in plain language.

  • Provide practical steps clients can use between appointments.

  • Recommend follow-up only where it is likely to be useful.

  • Refer onward where another healthcare professional or urgent medical assessment is more appropriate.
